Some might have noticed the site went down for a few days recently (again). This is (again) because I didn't pay the bills. The site has become less and less active so I was planning to just let it die a slightly undignified death. In the end I checked the actual billing statement and I only needed to re-register the domain for $20 or something like that, so I paid it. Curiously, a day later I got a donation for pretty much exactly the same amount (thank you, you know who you are!). So we are sorted for the registration fee.
Farther away, on the horizon...
The renewal for the hosting fee is coming up next year, 09/25. This is US$215 for three more years. It's early to start stressing over it, but keep in mind it will be much harder to raise enough cash for it this time with far less active users. Any ideas welcome to how to deal with it.
Overall the entire forums and site is fairly dated now. A complete overhaul would be nice, but finding anyone willing to do that would probably be very difficult. I know about as much about web site-design as I do about... well... a lot of things I know nothing about.
Well... in any case, we're still here for another year (just about).
