There is a moonkin who I watched PVP the other day. He was really good to watch and has a video. Hes a little hyper in it, but I like how he makes sure to cast Starfire, then hits his starsurge (if proc'd) for the best burst instead of hitting it everytime its up.

Starfall Rotation

I noticed that sometimes, not often, my starfall cooldown ends when I'm no where close to going into a lunar eclipse. Sometimes it's even between going from lunar to solar. Do I still pop it or should wait until I'm back in lunar to use it?

For a fight like Yor, you'll be camping solar for the AOE phase, so you won't see a lot of IS action. Especially with the nerf, the adds die so quickly that your best bet is probably shrooms with hurricane filler.

Warmaster P1 is a multi-dot fight, not AOE, so you'll be camping solar and rolling both DoTs on all targets until P2. The difference is that your targets stay alive long enough for this to be effective.

Nature's Vigil is basically a super-powered Atonement on a 3min CD. Since I've been leveling a disc priest as a pet project this new talent has me VERY excited.

WM was in Solar.

I believe you can swap weapons during a GCD (but they also give you a GCD if you aren't in one). If I am correct, Cat+Weapon takes no longer than Cat, and Moonkin+Weapon takes no longer than Moonkin. I'll admit that I don't do much weapon swapping these days, so I may be wrong about this.

Wanted to revisit this and see if anyone has had a similar experience. I switched to GoS last night for Deathwing and I was watching my timers closely, and there were a couple times during that fight where I went through lunar and Starfall wasn't ready until after I left eclipse. Would that be possible or could it be a reporting error from power auras? I have my action bars hidden as I feel very comfortable with my rotation and using just timers, but that was the first time I had experienced going through the full eclipse cycles and not having it ready again once I was in Lunar.

I just want to say thank you so much for all the information in this thread!

This is the 2nd night my guild has worked on spine --
Tues I was bottom of the charts, I really didn't know exactly what I was supposed to do. I reforged my gear and completely changed my strategy.
I went from being the lowest, bottoming the charts to middle of the pack and one of the highest overall in damage on some attempts.

I was averaging about 800k per exposure. We got to the 4th lift ( 2nd lift, 2nd tendon ) and wiped at <5% and my best attempt I did 3.5m+ damage total on the tendons. I have really been down about my dps but it feels really awesome to do marginally more dps than some of the people I expected to do more than me. Moonkins really do decent on this fight with almost full heroic gear.

Thinlizzy,

To answer your two questions as posed:

1- Yes, your DOTs will continue to tick to completion fully buffed by all boosting effects up when they were first cast - Similarly, any buff procced AFTER a DOT is up will not impact it;

2- No, the NG procced by IS will only effect spells cast subsequently, so that is why in the standard rotation you should always cast IS BEFORE refreshing MF/SF - They are the more powerful DOT and so benefit more from the NG buff.

We are now 7/8 heroic, got to 4% on Heroic Madness on our first full night of working on him (tonight), and we are looking for a warlock (or two - we will have zero in about 1.5 weeks) and a yummy, wonderful boomkin (we have one, but really want another, because ... well, why wouldn't we?) Before anything, this is my SECOND post here, so if I'm in the wrong place, or if any of this is already posted, I apologize in advance.

Here's some background info about boomkin's as for me, I started playing boom's soon as cata came out, I got a feel for it rather quickly, but I don't feel I ever played to max potential I can reach, since I started I've always tried to better myself, and don't have a problem looking for help, so bare with me.

Basically the question I want to ask, maybe be completely noob, and a dumb question.. but here goes.
for example: Say I enter an eclipse, I use my int CD, stacked with my heroic insignia, and my Life blood, and were to refresh dots, would those dots stay affected by all those buffs until they were refreshed? or fell off? or would as soon as the buffed parts (trinket proc, engi gloves buff) fell off, would the dots then go back down to what they would be normalized? basically what I'm asking is, would it be more effective to cast DOT's with al...

So even if I'm in Solar, I should let my Eclipsed moonfire tick till it's almost over and then redot with Sunfire and refresh IS?

Then that's a mistake i've been making, I would've refreshed it with a sunfire and a new IS as soon as i hit my Solar eclipse.

According to you spreadsheet (if I've done it correctly) I should refresh before leaving if my dots have less then 9.1 secs left (from Lunar to Solar). But I can imagine when you don't replace your dots instantly after hitting eclipse that you'll only need to dot once/Eclipse (Most of the times ofc, depends on the situation) instead of the 2 times i was doing now

1. Your hit is pretty high, do you should look into reforging some more Spirit into Haste > Mastery.
2. Put a 50+ Intellect on your bracers
3. I think lavawalker on your boots would be more optimal then Haste
