Ok here's my UI Updated...

I might still have a few things to change but for now it's working for me. In the meantime, any comments or suggestions?

In raid - In combat
Image

Addons:
Bagnon - For my bags
Clique - Love this addon combined with my wowmouse and ShadowUF
DBM
MikScrollingBattleText
Minimap Button Frames
Omen
oRA3
Power Auras - I use this to track my eclipse and other timers.
Skada - Love this over recount
Quartz
SatrinaBuffFrame
ShadowUF - Love this addon.
Squeenix
TipTac - Tip box - love this
Viewporter - Makes the black bars at the bottom and top. Doesn't cover the "view".
VisualHeal - So I can see incoming heals.

Looking for suggestions in improving my UI...

I like a simple, lightweight UI and I've been messing around with Shadowed Unit Frames but I don't like how its buffs are shown and I can't seem to pull the party bars together. I tried to disable the buffs and show standard blizzard buffs but then my trinket procs and little things don't even show up outside of the consolidated buffs box. I also tried to scale it all down but then the text is so tiny that I can't read it. :dazed

Any help is appreciated. =)

My current one, still working on it (moved Skada down to that empty space beside Grid, for example).

    Add-ons:
  • Bartender4 (action bars)
  • ButtonFacade (action bars prettier)
  • ButtonFacade_Svelte (action bars even more prettier)
  • CollectMe (for summoning random pets for randomness)
  • DBM (duh)
  • DrDamage (info on tooltip over spells, kinda cool)
  • Grid (the grid)
  • GridStatusRaidDebuff (even griddier)
  • LoggerHead (logging data to WoL)
  • MageNuggets (little box top-centre, tells me my active hit/crit/haste/SP against the target, although doesn't include non-mage hit talents, also sends an automatic thank-you whisper for Innervate and FM)
  • Omen (threat)
  • oRA2 (MT targets, CDs of all raid members)
  • PowerAuras (flashy stuff and DoT timers)
  • Quartz (cast bar)
  • Skada (like Recount, but sexier)
  • TomTom (cuz I get lost)

I'll happily take any advice to make it better. I did try using new unit frames, but could not get used to them, and haven't seen any that are as clear as the default without being crazy large, so anyone got tips on that specifically.

Ok, Kaytie, here's what I see.

*Unify your bar textures.
*Unify your fonts.
*Your entire UI is off center (looks like its shifted to the left to me)
*May I suggest Nameplate_Modifier as an addon? It will really clean up the look of your nameplates.
*Reposition your Main Tank, ToT, ToTT bar. Personally, I'd shrink it ALOT too.
*There's some empty space to the left of Grid. I'd place either omen or skada here.
*Mage Nuggets: What does the box actually do for you in raids besides make you feel good?
*I see your debuffs. Do you have your buffs somewhere? (this is not necessary, just curious)
*If you're gonna show all of those minimap buttons, try spacing them a little.

Thats what I see right now.

Awesome, cheers! <3

Aye, I already moved Skada down to that gap, and left Omen there because if it's not in front of my nose I ignore it. Likewise the oRA2 target bars got shrunk and pushed to the side a little, although I like keeping them big enough that I can click on the target name easily.

My buffs are hidden during combat (used Satrina just so I could hide them): PowerAuras tells me any gains I need to know about, so the rest just seemed clutter I could live without. Kept debuffs up because they can be important and don't have PA/Grid warnings for everything yet.

MageNuggets, I just like it. Guess I could remove the box, but it's small enough and I'm a sucker for excess information (see DrDamage).

Didn't actually realise it was all squint until you said it, going to have to tidy that when I log back or it'll bug me! Guess it's because my screen is to the side of the table (phone's next to it), so I'm not looking at it from bang in the middle. Or at least that's my excuse. :)

I'll check out the nameplates one, cheers. Looks snazzy from pictures at least.

I keep meaning to do this and never bother. Lazy FTL.

*Dumb question* How can you turn them off? I have a tonne of them there that I never look at, and tried clumping the worthl;ess ones on top of each other to get them out of the road. Typical slob, just push the crap in the cupboard and hope it magically goes away. :)

on power auras:
anyone have a guide or something to teach me how to set this up? I tried it once, and gave up.
Also, how resource heavy is it?

I use MBB to manage my minimap buttons. I believe other people have used Minimap Button Frame. I prefer MBB because it is just one button instead of just a frame.

Relevart posted a guide on his blog and has a forum post about it on TMR somewhere. I used it for awhile and then went to Quartz Procs.

Power Auras

I made a brief guide/FAQ for my guild a few weeks ago. I would suggest looking at a written tutorial from Tankspot and a YouTube guide that further explains how to set up Power Auras.

Hide the bars to the side and remove the blizzard FCT healing. Leave it at just auras if you use it as an eclipse monitor.

Wisp (or anyone else), could I get any feedback on my UI??

It's back one page (55) and the second from the last post.

Thanks!

The only thing I'd suggest would be to move your mob debuff bars down under your target frame and maybe filter them to just show your dots so you can use them for tracking.

mmmm new ui.

Of note, target frame is centered above the hotbars. Pet frame comes up to the left of my player frame. All my boss timers come up on the left up and down the screen.
